Say Yes to Holiness

This post has been a LONG time coming. Particularly because I never saw it coming. But I have found that that tends to be how God works in my life. 🙂

If someone would have told me when I was graduatiing high school that I would be living where I am currently living (Fort Payne, Alabama), doing what I am currently doing (Spiritual Formation and Mentorship), trying to learn Spanish (for the 4th time in my life! LOL), and then intentionally writing about it and sharing it all online with other people, I would have called the guys in the white coats so they could come and lock you up immediately.

Yet here I am. God’s ways are most definitely not our ways, because I sure would NOT have chosen the path I took to get here. But as I look back, I can say with some certaintly that with the exception of regretting deeply the pain I have caused others along the way (usually due to my enormous pride, selfishness, ignorance and downright stubborness), I wouldn’t change a minute of it–even those minutes that I experienced my heart being torn out of my chest and being stomped on–because it would mean that I wouldn’t be who I am today.

I am FAR from perfect, and most definitely still a work in progress, but in the midst of my flaws and weaknesses, I have the privilege and grace of walking besides some of God’s most marvelous creatures during this fantastic and beautiful journey of life. And it’s all just a GLIMPSE of what is in store for each and every one of us–if we choose it.

In the days and weeks ahead, I invite you to join me as I begin to share what I have learned and experienced in the continuing quest for holiness. About finding true happiness and meaning in the midst of life. About finding purpose, peace, and abundance while discovering an authentic happiness that is can be sometimes be breathtaking and heartbreaking in the same moment. If any of this stirs your heart, or interests your mind in any way, then come along for the ride. It’s time to Say Yes to Holiness.

In the interim, know of my prayers for you, and hope to see you on the Way tomorrow.
