On this 12th day of Christmas, my gift to you are an assortment of resources, videos, blog posts, podcasts, and social media community links from the Say Yes to Holiness ministry. My hope is that they can help us be mindful of, and be entry points to dive deeper into understanding the twelve points of belief in the Apostles Creed–which the 12 drummers drumming represent in the Twelve Days of Christmas song.
Those twelve points of belief in the Apostle’s Creed are:
- I believe in God, the Father Almighty, Creator of heaven and earth.
- And in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord
- Who was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary
- He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried
- He descended into hell. And on the third day He rose again from the dead
- He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of God the Father Almighty
- He will come again to judge the living and the dead
- I believe in the Holy Spirit
- the holy catholic Church, the Communion of Saints
- the forgiveness of sins
- the resurrection of the body
- And in life everlasting.
Personally, I have always thought that the idea of 12 drummers drumming is such a great one for highlighting the points of belief.
Why you may ask?
First the drumming is for our own benefit. We need to drum these points home in our minds, hearts and souls! We NEED to know without a doubt what it is that we profess.
The second is for the benefit of others. When the time come to profess what we believe, we need to not hesitate to share these beliefs with others.
BECAUSE IT IS THE GOOD NEWS!
Seriously, what could be better news in this depressing and discouraging world then the reality that God created us, and out of LOVE, sent His Son to BE with us by becoming one of us? And then out of that love, He willingly suffered, died, ROSE FROM THE DEAD, and ascended into Heaven where He is seated at the right hand of our Father to judge the living and the dead? But even better is the fact that there is FORGIVENESS of sins, RESURRECTION of the body, and LIFE EVERLASTING.
This is why we need drums! We need to draw attention as we LOUDLY proclaim these GOOD, BEAUTIFUL, and WONDROUS TRUTHS like never before so we can help EVERYONE experience hope, peace, joy and love each and every day of their lives here on earth and all the way unto eternity.
These are the REAL gifts of Christmas.
So, in celebration of these good, beautiful and wondrous truths, I have prepared below my 12 gifts for you. These gifts will keep on giving because they are links and resources to all of what is going on within Say Yes to Holiness–all of which is focused upon helping inspire, encourage and accompany you on the journey to holiness.

Know of my prayers for you in this year ahead, and I especially pray that you decide to join in many of the opportunities that the Say Yes to Holiness Community has to offer, and in the process, become an active part of the Say Yes Movement to do WHATEVER IT TAKES to strive for holiness and embrace the life God has created you for–a life of purpose, peace and abundance.
May 2021 be as extraordinary as you are!
PS–I would be remiss without a reminder that a way to have an extraordinary 2021 is by signing up for the Unhackable Catholics Book Club that will be happening in the Say Yes to Holiness group in SmartCatholics beginning on Thursday, January 7th (the day after Epiphany!)
The 30 Day Unhackable Catholics Book Club will be discussing the book, Unhackable, by Kary Oberbrunner. The book itself is broken down into 30 days, so each morning, the group will gather briefly to watch a video from the author Kary Oberbrunner and to share with one another insights from the prior day’s challenge (given at the end of each day/chapter in the book).
Throughout the day, Unhackable Catholic Book Club members are encouraged to post and continue the conversation by sharing about what steps they are taking to become Unhackable in work and life.
(And here is a Link to purchase Unhackable book on Amazon so you are ready to participate in the Book Club on January 7th!)
