“Helping People Meet Jesus”–1 on 1 Conversation With Pete Burak, Director of id

In the most recent episode of the Say Yes to Holiness podcast, I had the privilege of sitting down for an absolutely fabulous conversation with Pete Burak, Director of i.d.9:16.

Pete had been a person I had been wanting to connect with for a while as I had been impressed with the work id was doing, but when I learned that Pete was going to be a part of the Renewal Ministries’ Pentecost Mission on May 30th (the first session begins on Pentecost, you can sign up here), I felt the Holy Spirit nudging me hard that NOW was the time to reach out, and boy am I glad that I did!

Our conversation was a most enjoyable one, and it gave me so much encouragement, so be sure to check out the episode here:

Episode #67–“Helping People Meet Jesus”

During our conversation, I learned that in addition to being the director of id, Pete is a 2010 graduate of Franciscan University of Steubenville, and has a Master’s in Theology from Sacred Heart Major Seminary in Detroit, MI, serves as a frequent speaker at numerous youth and young adult events, and is married with four children.

In addition, we dove deep into id and its mission–to establish communities of missionary disciples and to provide opportunities for young adults (20/30’s) to encounter Jesus Christ, hear His call, and decide to follow Him, and some of id’s more recent work, to include the upcoming “Spirit-Filled Leaders Intensive” that will be held June 1-30.

We spoke about mentorship and accompaniment, how to help people meet Jesus, and also what one’s life looks like if one is living as an intentional disciple.

Our conversation was an uplifting and hopeful one, particularly as Pete shared about instances where the Spirit is moving in the Body of Christ and His Church, and how the work of id continues to spread across the country.

In conclusion, this conversation really inspired and encouraged me, so I hope this conversation does the same for you so you can continue to keep doing WHATEVER IT TAKES to draw closer to God and become more like Jesus so you can continue to bring His love and mercy to others.
