Greetings. I pray that this find each of you safe and healthy in the midst of these extremely challenging times. Here is Episode 26 of the Say Yes to Holiness podcast which is entitled, “What’s the Path Ahead in Our Current World of Turmoil?” In this episode, I provide food for the head, heart, hands and feet as I also touch upon the current circumstances in our nation in response to the death of George Floyd and what any response needs to include in our own lives. “Where, O death, is your victory? Where, O death, is your sting?”

These are the words of Saint Paul in 1 Corinthians 15:55, but they were immortalized in an Easter homily by Saint John Chrysostom when he proclaimed: “O Death, where is your sting? O Hell, where is your victory? Christ is risen, and you are overthrown. Christ is risen, and the demons are fallen. Christ is risen, and the angels rejoice. Christ is risen, and life reigns. Christ is risen, and not one dead remains in the grave. For Christ, being risen from the dead, is become the first fruits of those who have fallen asleep. To Him be glory and […]

“Growing In Faith During Difficult Times”

Hey, Everyone! Wanted to share a special podcast episode entitled, “Growing in Faith During Difficult Times” that aired on the Belle Curve podcast. I was privileged to be a guest on the show this last week, and I spent time together with the hosts, Rachel Blackmon Bryars and Mary Scott Hunter, talking about what we can do to help us process and embrace the “new normal” of COVID-19. Enjoy the episode, and if you find it to be helpful, make sure to share “Growing in Faith During Difficult Times” episode with your friends! Christina Semmens is a Roman Catholic author, […]

Reality Check—This IS The New Normal

I read a really well done, informative and insightful article this morning from The Atlantic Monthly that walks through the various timelines in regards to the COVID-19 pandemic. It is hard to read, not because it is written in a technical language, but because it spells out the reality that most people don’t want to hear right now. What the article points out is the fact that what most of us are currently experiencing IS the new “normal.” I was a guest on the Belle Curve podcast yesterday, and the discussion revolved around how can people deal with what is […]

“Live In The Moment Or Go Crazy”

This blog post from Even the Sparrow blog and the accompanying YouTube video about Blessed Chiara is SO worth the 10 minutes to read and watch as you and your families celebrate the Sabbath today. And if you like any of this message because it gives you hope and encouragement, then join me tomorrow morning (Monday, March 23) at 10amCST as I do a FB Live webinar that continues to discuss how we can “live in the moment”! Happy Lataere Sunday, and hope to see you tomorrow! “Live In the moment or Go crazy” Live in the Moment or Go […]

Busy? Here’s A Prayer For You…

I recently came across this prayer entitled, “Slow Me Down, Lord” sent out in an email from US Catholic, and wanted to share with each of you: Slow Me Down, Lord Slow me down, Lord, slow me down! Ease the pounding of my heart by the quieting of my mind. Give me amid the confusion of my day the calmness of the everlasting hills. Break the tensions of my nerves and muscles with soothing music of the singing stream that lives in my memory. Help me to know the magical restoring power of sleep. Teach me the art of taking […]

Finding True Belonging and Living Authentically

One of the greatest challenges we have in life is to find the place where we belong and to live authentically. This phenomenal podcast explores both. Brene Brown is one of the best out there discussing vulnerability, while Lewis Howes is always pursuing what it takes to live a life of authenticity. Enjoy! https://lewishowes.com/podcast/r-brene-brown-create-true-belonging-and-heal-the-world/

True Self-Care

Came across this short post about what TRUE self-care looks like for those of us striving to grow closer to God and become more like Jesus. Great things to meditate and reflect upon! http://r20.rs6.net/tn.jsp?f=001sbC2Ys_l_b4d1bAnOXr68-sIOkRnlsKsSrWtExmK3WOz4uWTtmZpP6HM68Dv3DijHZymS2h9AcxMuKZ4FTVXbaXks-Ip7KgpIQIiJwe5QBySjdaO5Wk1KqghCsSqGsKNv5brBzuP394T3Jj2Y_dtbwHXxaKzj9goBlH_eNct5MccLFVVBpkWrw==&c=J0ezP9YDarg_kyaC8GEmP1nP8guvLM0ZSGy3N2jQT0BSeHVoqLZdsA==&ch=4BMtHC3uAZxd1oKO1pBbGTE3vAp1vF-nuK7Gcv2D_GVoV6QEgcS-Og==

Today’s Thought for the Journey

In light of being diagnosed today with strep, this thought posted initially on my Instagram wall pretty much sums up what I am trying to do in the midst of this event that I do not like, did not choose and can not change. Lord Jesus, I surrender everything to you. Take care of everything! Keep doing whatever it takes to grow closer to God and become more like Jesus so you can tell the Master of Death, not today!
