Reality Check—This IS The New Normal

I read a really well done, informative and insightful article this morning from The Atlantic Monthly that walks through the various timelines in regards to the COVID-19 pandemic. It is hard to read, not because it is written in a technical language, but because it spells out the reality that most people don’t want to hear right now. What the article points out is the fact that what most of us are currently experiencing IS the new “normal.” I was a guest on the Belle Curve podcast yesterday, and the discussion revolved around how can people deal with what is […]

News of Hope Regarding Dan Burke’s Health Status!

It is with joy that I share this update from Dan Burke’s wife, Stephanie, which indicates Dan is improving! Keep praying, and remember the power of prayer during this pandemic! Divino Nino, pray for us! From Stephanie: Dear Friends, I have hopeful news today. Dan’s tubes were removed this morning and he has been breathing on his own. His oxygen levels are good and his fever is receding, only coming at night now. The nurse feels that if he continues like this, they will be moving him out of ICU later today or tomorrow. He has a long way to […]

Fall In Love

As we head into Valentine’s Day “weekend,” a little food for the soul to keep everything in its proper perspective. This is one of my favorite poems that describes the journey to which we are invited in this life—if we but SAY YES. Fall In LoveNothing is more practical than finding God, than falling in Love in a quite absolute, final way. What you are in love with, what seizes your imagination, will affect everything. It will decide what will get you out of bed in the morning, what you do with your evenings, how you spend your weekends, what […]

It’s Never Too Early To Prepare For A Phenomenal Lenten Journey…

Hard to believe that in the aftermath of Christmas (I still don’t have my Christmas decorations put away!), that the beginning of Lent, Ash Wednesday, is only 6 weeks away. However, it’s never too early to prepare to make a phenomenal journey to grow closer to God and become more like Jesus, so wanted go share one of the books that I intend to use in my own Lenten journey. That book is entitled, “Lenten Journey with Mother Mary” by Fr Edward Looney. In short, the book takes you through Lent by having us in the first week, look to […]
